Add Dashboard Widgets

Learn how to create and configure new dashboard widgets.

With the appropriate access rights, you can create a new dashboard widget by clicking “Create Widget” in the top right corner of a dashboard.

A widget can either display data from a SQL stat or be used to show custom content via HTML.

1. Choose widget type
You can either embed an SQL stats (e.g. KPI, table, list, chart) or create an HTML widget (e.g. to display text, images, or formatting).

2. Fill in the fields
Title: Choose a title for your widget (displayed on the dashboard).

SQL stat configs

  • Select an existing SQL stat from the dropdown list (to create a new SQL stat follow the manual Create / Edit query reports).
  • Optionally, enable additional options:
    • “Only show number of rows with link to report”
    • “Show table header of the report”

VAR0 for report (optional)

  • Here you can pass a variable to the report (e.g. a filter value).

HTML Widget (optional instead of a report)

  • If you don’t want to display report data, you can enter any HTML code in this field (e.g. <h1>Welcome</h1> or <img src="...">).

3. Set size
Define the width / height of the widget on the dashboard (e.g. 1x, 2x, etc.).
For KPIs, a size of width = 1x and height = 1x is recommended.

4. Save
Click “Save” to add the widget to the dashboard or “Cancel” to return to the dashboard without saving.
