The Audit Assistant answers questions about your quality management system by searching your approved QM documents and using AI to formulate answers.
The QM documents stored in LDB are automatically analysed, divided into sections and saved in a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) format. When a user asks a question, the AI finds the relevant passages and builds an answer with references to those sections of the documents.

The key advantage: answers are based on your own approved documents, rather than being generated from general AI knowledge. Every answer includes its sources: document number, name, version, chapter, page and a direct link to the relevant passage in the PDF.
The Audit Assistant combines the capabilities of modern AI with the traceability that laboratory quality managers need for audits.
Designed for laboratory quality managers
In an audit, the right answer matters, but traceability matters just as much. The Audit Assistant was designed for exactly this situation.
Quality managers can respond quickly to questions while preparing for an audit or during the audit itself, and immediately show where the relevant procedure is documented. This saves time, reduces searching and builds confidence in discussions with auditors.
Examples:
“Where is the procedure for calibrating test equipment defined?”
“Which SOP describes how to handle deviations?”
Always based on your approved document versions
The Audit Assistant works with the currently approved documents in document control. This ensures that answers are not based on outdated drafts or unapproved intermediate versions.
Documents can be created directly in LDB or uploaded as PDFs. Once reviewed and approved with a digital signature, they become part of the verified knowledge base for the Audit Assistant.
Integrated with access rights
The Audit Assistant respects the user’s access rights and answers questions using only documents that the user is permitted to access.
Intelligent search across all QM documents
AI prepares the content of uploaded PDFs and documents created in LDB for the Audit Assistant, organising it into individual sections. These sections are stored in a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) format so that relevant content can be found precisely and used to answer audit questions.
This allows the Audit Assistant to find relevant passages even when a question does not use the exact wording of the document.
From document control to an auditable knowledge system
LDB combines document creation, versioning, review, approval, digital signatures and AI-assisted analysis in one system.
Documents become an active resource:
This creates a continuous workflow, from creating a QM document to providing a quick, evidence-based answer during an audit.
