The GMP-certified laboratory at ALS GmbH investigates analytical questions relating to pharmaceutical raw materials and preparations on behalf of its customers. LDB supports analytical work in maintaining and assuring quality and compliance with legal requirements.

As part of the global Applus+ Group, Applus+ BKW offers a comprehensive range of materials testing services. LDB closely connects laboratory analysis and reporting with the commercial processes of quotation and invoicing, as well as the organisational processes for incoming and outgoing materials.

The AIT in Vienna is Austria’s largest non-university research institution. In AIT’s accredited laboratories and testing facilities, LDB replaces an Access database for test equipment management that had evolved over the years: calibration and maintenance procedures, control charts, measurement uncertainties, and equipment status are managed centrally, and new equipment is automatically imported from SAP Asset Management. Employee qualification management is also covered by a training plan and competency matrix; login is via single sign-on using AIT corporate accounts. Other institutes are gradually following suit with sample and order management.

Borgers SE & Co. KGaA (acquired by Autoneum Holding AG in 2023) develops and manufactures textile component systems for the automotive industry. Its central laboratory uses LDB to test and document development projects involving textile interior and exterior vehicle trim. LDB simplifies the coordination of testing standards and the planning and execution of structured test series.

Aventra is an independent, DAkkS-accredited laboratory offering a wide range of tests in microbiological, molecular biological, medical, immunological and chemical diagnostics.

Baumineral supplies building materials, converting by-products from coal-fired power stations, such as fly ash, into valuable raw materials for the construction industry.

In its own laboratory, raw materials are recorded in LDB, tested according to DIN standards and then compared with the results of external monitoring bodies as reference samples. After importing the weekly results from the power stations’ internal monitoring and the company's own tests, the extensive statistics required by the DIN standard are displayed.

The German Foundry Association (BDG), based in Düsseldorf, is the industry association for Germany’s foundry industry and represents the interests of iron, steel and non-ferrous metal foundries.

BDG service GmbH uses LDB to manage customers, orders and samples. In its ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory, analytical data ranging from chemistry to metallography is imported from instruments and automatically compiled into sample reports. Quotations and invoices are also produced directly in LDB.

Bio-Diagnostix in Reken is an accredited laboratory for food, water and veterinary testing. Its diverse customers range from veterinarians, farmers and suppliers to small artisan processors, restaurants and commercial kitchens, as well as major food manufacturers. LDB helps every team member maintain an overview and respond quickly to customer enquiries. The seamlessly integrated LDB quality management module also supports the quality manager in her daily work.

Biomerx is a laboratory accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, specialising in microbiological testing of food and operational hygiene.

The Innovation Lab at Bischof + Klein optimises flexible packaging and technical films made from plastics and plastic composites. Its product range includes traditional industrial packaging, highly refined consumer packaging and innovative specialist films for technical applications.

Blue Biolabs GmbH is a drinking water testing facility accredited under Section 15(4) of the German Drinking Water Ordinance (TrinkwV). Sampling is planned in LDB and on-site parameters are recorded on a tablet. Samples are then analysed in the laboratory, the results are included in test reports, and the work is invoiced.

Borregaard is an international chemical company headquartered in Norway. Its Karlsruhe site produces and refines lignosulphonates from renewable raw materials.

The in-house quality assurance laboratory uses LDB to analyse raw materials and finished products. Once approved, a certificate of analysis is generated automatically. Other sites can access analytical results, statistics and certificates in LDB directly through the company network.

CBmed is a competence centre that brings together excellent research infrastructure, scientific expertise, medical knowledge and national and international industry partners for systematic medical biomarker research.

The competence centre uses LDB for project administration and quality management.

Veterinärlabor Ankum is part of the Dres. Arnold joint veterinary practice. The accredited laboratory uses LDB to analyse samples from a wide range of areas, from animal feed to food hygiene testing, book equipment, and generate reports and electronic invoices.

Drägerwerk AG & Co. KGaA, based in Lübeck, is a leading international manufacturer of medical and safety technology. In the testing and calibration laboratories at the Lübeck site, LDB is replacing an on-premise LIMS that has been heavily customized over nearly 20 years and consolidating a heterogeneous suite of tools into a single system. Measurement data—such as that from the Zwick tensile testing machine—is imported, and test procedures and material master data are managed centrally. In addition, Dräger utilizes LDB’s AI functions via the company’s own AI platform.

DST - Diagnostische Systeme & Technologien GmbH develops, manufactures and markets in-vitro tests and products for point-of-care diagnostics and laboratory testing. LDB supports DST with sample receipt, automated measurement capture and reporting.

We work closely with essentim and Matthias Schuh’s team on environmental monitoring. Data from sample transport, refrigerators and other laboratory environments is automatically synchronised through the essentim Cloud and processed in LDB, for example directly in an instrument’s control chart. This provides maximum transparency with minimal integration effort.

The Fehrer Group is one of the world’s leading specialists in vehicle interior components. Its central site in Kitzingen uses LDB for quality control and quality assurance.

The Faktum Rind laboratory at Dr. Eller's veterinary clinic in Hofheim tests samples for pathogens on behalf of farmers and veterinarians, helping them meet their obligations to perform antimicrobial susceptibility testing.

LDB is used to examine blood, milk, faecal and tracheal samples, import results, generate reports automatically and analyse herd data.

FHC is a testing laboratory accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 and an inspection body for drinking water supply systems accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020. FHC uses LDB throughout its laboratory workflow, from mobile sampling and inspection to analysis and reporting in the laboratory. LDB is also used to prepare reports and expert assessments. The integrated CRM system covers customer management, order processing and invoicing in detail.

As part of the “Decoding the Human Brain” programme, the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine researches the organisation of the human brain across its different spatial and temporal scales.

Radiotracers, also known as radiopharmaceuticals, require rapid processing because the reagents and end products remain usable for only a few hours. It therefore makes sense to store all quality control data in a single system that can be accessed from any location by every employee. Forschungszentrum Jülich produces radiotracers for patients.

In GMP-regulated quality control—from incoming goods inspection through microbiology and analytics to stability testing—LDB is used to digitally record analytical data that was previously logged on paper. Measurement data from Chromeleon, LabX, and other instrument systems is imported into LDB via an interface, and approved results are sent back to SAP QM. This eliminates the need for manual double entry and ensures end-to-end traceability of raw materials, culture media, and products.

Handelslabor Hofmann is an accredited laboratory in Bremen that performs physical, physicochemical and chemical analyses for food and feed manufacturers. LDB covers the entire process, from accepting orders to invoicing and delivering test reports.

Hemopet, a veterinary laboratory in California, provides laboratory diagnostic work and expert interpretation of data. This service is available to veterinarians worldwide and to individual animal owners through their veterinarian.

Hemopet uses Labordatenbank with an integrated Online Test Request Form embedded in their website. Results are imported from various analyzers and compiled in a report ready for interpretation. The final reports are emailed and/or faxed back to the clients.

Hirschmann Automotive GmbH is an international automotive supplier. Its central laboratory in Rankweil uses LDB to manage all testing equipment, procedures and processes, as well as staff scheduling and capacity planning.

The central laboratory of Hallesche Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH brings together laboratory services for drinking water, wastewater and waste at the Halle-Nord wastewater treatment plant.

Alongside all analytical work, LDB is used to manage the network's numerous sampling points. Structuring, planning and managing regularly recurring samples are integrated with analytical work in a single system.

Hygiene Nord, part of Viridiuslab, is an independent microbiological testing laboratory and hygiene consultancy. Its main activities include environmental and food hygiene testing, hospital hygiene consulting and testing, the examination and assessment of antimicrobial agents, the preparation of hygiene plans, infection surveillance, outbreak management and expert reports. LDB was initially introduced for drinking water testing. Its modular structure allowed it to be introduced gradually in other areas.

ARGE UMWELT-HYGIENE GMBH carries out environmental inspections, testing and expert assessments for both private and public clients.

LDB helps manage customers, drinking water systems, orders and samples. Work in LDB begins with preparing quotations and planning inspections and sampling. For site inspections and recording on-site results, sampling staff use LDB’s offline inspection interface on their smartphones or tablets, even in remote mountain areas.

In the laboratory, analytical results are recorded in LDB and automatically combined with site inspection findings in test and inspection reports. The corresponding invoice is then generated at the touch of a button.

Indikator GmbH is a renowned specialist laboratory for elemental analysis with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and GMP certification. Focusing on textiles, food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, it offers a wide range of analytical methods, including elemental analysis using ICP-MS, XRF and organic halogens. Indikator places great emphasis on efficiency and precision: with LDB, every incoming sample is recorded, scanned and photographed as soon as it arrives at the laboratory. This enables seamless report and invoice generation and ensures maximum accuracy and traceability. Automated interfaces simplify and optimise collaboration with external laboratories.

Institut Dr. Wagner is an accredited testing facility for the analysis of pesticides and other contaminants in plant-based food and animal feed, and an authorised food expert under Section 73 of the Austrian Food Safety and Consumer Protection Act (LMSVG).

The institute uses LDB for order processing, with interfaces including AgrarMarkt Austria (AMA), as well as sample management with an interface to the EU Pesticides Database, invoicing and quality management.

The Institute of Hygiene at the UKM combines environmental and drinking water hygiene, hospital hygiene, and molecular biological diagnostics. LDB is replacing a legacy system that has been in use for over 20 years. LDB manages sample collection and receipt, test runs and plate layout (PCR, sequencing), test reports with electronic signatures, and the preparation of reporting data for regulatory agencies; the integrated quality management module covers test equipment, document control, and materials management. Login is via single sign-on through the clinic’s IT system.

The Institute for Hygiene and Public Health (IHPH) at University Hospital Bonn brings together expertise across water hygiene, medical geography, environmental medicine, disinfectant testing, hospital hygiene, global health and One Health. LDB is used for chemical, microbial and hygiene-related contract testing, including water hygiene (drinking, bathing, wastewater and process water), technical hygiene (large technical installations, fittings and more), disinfectant testing (medical device reprocessing procedures, disinfectant effectiveness against biofilms and more), and a range of other services.

The Institute of Forensic Medicine at Frankfurt University Hospital (Goethe University) conducts forensic toxicological examinations for the judiciary and police—ranging from alcohol testing to the analysis of drugs, medications, and cannabinoids—all in accordance with the requirements of forensic accreditation under ISO 17025. LDB has replaced the legacy system there: Cases and evidence items are created along with the requested analyses; measurement data from Agilent instruments is imported; and worksheets, labels, and report templates are generated automatically. Following the Toxicology Department, the Department of Forensic Genetics is now also implementing the laboratory database.

INVAC develops autogenous vaccines and identifies relevant pathogens in samples from diseased animals. Its veterinary diagnostic laboratory uses LDB to manage samples tested using MALDI–TOF, serology and molecular biological methods. At the same time, compliance with production standards and complete traceability are documented in preparation for upcoming EU legislation.

The accredited laboratory at IQ.Köln tests samples covering the confectionery industry’s entire product range, including chemical, physical and molecular biological analysis, nutritional values, sensory testing and specialist industry-specific analyses.

With its full range of modern diagnostics, MVZ Labor Ravensburg is one of southern Germany’s most capable physician-led medical laboratories. LDB is used for drinking water testing and hospital hygiene.

Labor Dr. Scheller in Augsburg specialises in testing food, consumer products, water and environmental samples. LDB digitises the entire process, from sampling and analysis through to test reports and invoicing.

Hygienezentrum Dr. Sturm, with its microbiological laboratory, addresses all aspects of hospital hygiene, including expert assessments, advice on new buildings, extensions and renovations at healthcare facilities, testing of disinfectors and sterilisers, and the prevention of Legionella and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Hygienezentrum Dr. Sturm uses LDB from customer and order management through sample receipt and labelling to automated reporting.

Lafuwa provides analytical services for water, sewage sludge, slurry, soil, waste, contaminated sites, excavated soil and hygiene. It uses LDB at all three locations, both for laboratory workflows and for its customer portal and quality management.

Lebosol Dünger GmbH develops and manufactures specialised liquid fertilisers for foliar application. LDB serves as its quality management system across multiple sites. The in-house laboratory tests batches against product specifications.

Labor Lommatzsch & Säger in Cologne provides services to the food industry, specialising in the increasingly important analysis of mineral oil components such as MOSH and MOAH in food and food packaging.

LDB automatically imports the extensive results, displays chromatograms and generates comprehensive reports.

Microbact AG is a private testing services laboratory based in Langenthal, Switzerland. It holds GMP certification from Swissmedic and is accredited as an independent testing laboratory by the Swiss Accreditation Service.

Microbact AG specialises in microbiological testing of pharmaceutical preparations, cosmetics, food and drinking water.

LDB supports Microbact AG’s employees in managing samples, orders and customers, and in automatically generating reports and invoices. Customers can submit sample testing orders and retrieve results through a customer login.

MPL - Mikrobiologisches Prüflabor GmbH is a GMP-certified testing laboratory. Since 1993, it has been Austria's first non-state company to carry out microbiological analyses of medicinal products, medical devices and cosmetics.
MPL tests both sterile and non-sterile preparations and products across a broad range of microbiological analyses.

When establishing a modern LIMS, MPL GmbH chose the expertise and innovative capabilities of LDB Labordatenbank GmbH after an extensive market evaluation. Working together, the companies developed several new modules and processes specifically for microbiological GMP analysis. nabu Oberflächentechnik GmbH provides extensive analytical services for process media in its in-house laboratories at Stulln, Germany, and Traun, Austria.

LDB is used to analyse customers' bath samples, perform mechanical tests such as cross-cut or impact tests, and assess corrosion protection using salt spray, filiform corrosion and constant condensation tests. The results are made available digitally to plant operators for targeted analysis with customers.

Netze BW Wasser GmbH, a subsidiary of the energy conglomerate EnBW, operates, among other things, the water supply system in Stuttgart. Following a competitive bidding process, LDB is replacing the previous LIMS in the accredited drinking water laboratory. With LDB, facilities, sampling points, and recurring sampling—ranging from network samples to Legionella testing in buildings—are planned, digitally logged on-site, evaluated in the lab, and checked against the limit values specified in the Drinking Water Ordinance. Test reports are generated automatically, and billing is handled via SAP.

As a manufacturer of food supplements and a supplier of vitamins and minerals, Nutrilo GmbH, a subsidiary of the globally active PHW Group, uses LDB in its in-house quality assurance and quality control laboratory.

LDB is used to manage and analyse incoming goods and production batches and to generate test certificates for customers. Live data is statistically analysed through trends and target-versus-actual comparisons and made available for quality management.

Oerlikon Balzers is a world-leading supplier of coatings that significantly improve the performance and service life of precision components and tools for metal and plastics processing.

Oerlikon uses LDB to capture, document and analyse measurement data from production, research and development.

Osmo Holz & Color GmbH & Co. KG offers a wide range of wood finishes and coating systems through more than 2,500 specialist retailers worldwide.

At its Münster site, LDB is used to manage samples from numerous laboratories, from development to production, and to develop new formulations.

LORD is the world's leading manufacturer of rubber-to-metal bonding systems and elastomer coatings for the automotive and aerospace industries, using both solvent-based and water-based dispersion adhesives. Its European research and development centre in Hilden develops customer-specific solutions in many areas of adhesive technology. European series production is based in Hückelhoven. LDB is used across sites for incoming and outgoing goods inspection, test plan management and automated certificate generation. LDB is connected to SAP and supports quality assurance and quality management laboratories with analysis and product release.

Petroguss’s in-house service laboratory in Hildesheim performs analyses with integrated service and advice for internal customers in industrial lubricants, metalworking fluids and industrial cleaners, helping increase productivity and reduce costs. LDB records service and development orders, manages samples, captures analytical data and produces analytical reports including historical trends. LDB’s integrated quality management modules automatically document each step in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.

In the lubricants laboratory at the Porsche Development Center in Weissach, engine and transmission oils, fuels, and coolants from vehicle and engine tests are analyzed. LDB replaces a legacy system managed by the department: Samples are recorded via barcode and linked to the vehicle or engine, test procedures are assigned, measurement values are imported, and the results are included in the test report; label printing is directly integrated. Operations are TISAX-certified.

The PURAGLOBE Group operates refineries that reprocess waste oil into high-quality base oils. In the in-house laboratory, process samples are taken every two hours and tested for viscosity, color, water, chlorine, and PCBs, among other parameters. LDB has replaced the previous Excel-based documentation system: Samples are automatically created from the process data, results are checked against customer specifications, and certificates of analysis (CoA) are automatically generated upon approval and sent to customers in two languages. LDB is connected to the ERP system via the REST API; a dashboard displays the release status of each batch to the shipping department.

The Austrian Quality Laboratory in Ried im Innkreis is Austria’s central dairy laboratory: This is where raw milk and milk yield testing samples from seven federal states are analyzed—about 400,000 samples per month. Using LDB, sample data from the state control associations is imported; measurement values from FOSS analyzers, bacterial count determinations, and manual count tables are automatically assigned; repeat measurements are identified; and the results are transmitted to the ZAR on the same day. In addition, pregnancy tests, dairy delivery samples, and accredited drinking water, bathing water, and wastewater analyses—with automatic billing in LDB—are conducted.

Rothkötter Mischfutterwerk GmbH produces all common complete and complementary feeds for pigs, broiler poultry and parent stock at its plants in Meppen-Versen, Haren-Eurohafen and Boizenburg.

Rothkötter uses LDB to record samples and manage data for tests carried out by partner laboratories. Digital subcontracting exchanges data with external laboratories, making results immediately available at the touch of a button.

RYGOL Baustoffwerk GmbH & Co. KG is one of Bavaria's leading dry mortar manufacturers and operates an internal quality assurance laboratory responsible for product testing. The laboratory at RYGOL Baustoffwerk GmbH & Co. KG uses LDB for quality assurance, automatically checking product samples against more than 1,000 specifications. LDB also supports the laboratory manager from planning and classification through to product release.

Saint-Gobain Biolink in Waakirchen develops and manufactures technical adhesives and adhesive tapes for industrial applications. In the materials testing and quality assurance laboratory, LDB is replacing Excel spreadsheets and handwritten tracking sheets: Test plans with specifications are stored by product and versioned; tests such as static shear strength are linked to test equipment and methods; and the results are output directly into the Certificate of Analysis (CoA). Master data comes from the QAD ERP system, and samples are identified via barcode.

AniCon Labor GmbH is a laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for chemical and microbiological testing of food, feed and drinking water, as well as pathological, anatomical and laboratory diagnostic examinations of livestock. It also manufactures autogenous vaccines and in vitro diagnostics for livestock.

LDB is used for sample management, measurement data imports, evaluation and automatic reporting in microbiological and chemical analysis, serological and molecular biological diagnostics (ELISA, PCR), and documentation of pathological examinations.

Senna is a long-established Austrian company specialising in fats, margarines, sauces and dressings, with IFS, organic and RSPO certifications. Its in-house laboratory uses LDB to carry out quality control with state-of-the-art testing equipment and to document compliance with HACCP guidelines.

SIG in Linnich near Jülich manufactures internationally recognised food carton packaging.

LDB enables clients at production sites around the world to submit orders to different internal laboratories, track their status and retrieve analytical results. This covers a wide range of work, from quality assurance samples to development.

Laboratorium SOWA is an accredited environmental laboratory offering a wide range of chemical and microbiological analyses. LDB supports its in-house sampling staff with mobile sampling, the management of a wide variety of regulatory decisions and limit values, subcontracting and invoicing.

We have a close technology partnership with Splashlake and the people behind it, Burkhard Schäfer and Dr. Peter Maier. Together, we enable deep integration of instrument-generated data directly into LDB. HPLC peaks, for example, can be visualised and evaluated directly in the LIMS without the original instrument software.

The City of Hof Veterinary Office is responsible for monitoring and testing samples from various areas, including bacteriological meat inspection and the Trichinella testing laboratory.

LDB is used across these areas. In meat hygiene, sample data is recorded at the customer's premises, evaluated in the laboratory, invoiced and sent as reports. In the Trichinella laboratory, submitted samples are identified by QR code, notices are generated for recipients, and overviews are forwarded to other databases.

Stadtwerke Klagenfurt supplies the Carinthian capital with drinking water. LDB has been used as the LIMS from the very beginning for the newly established, accredited microbiological laboratory—which focuses on drinking water and Legionella testing—as well as for the inspection body for UV disinfection systems. Sampling is planned and recorded on-the-go by both internal and external samplers, analyzed in the laboratory, and documented in accredited test reports. Test equipment, SOPs, and document control are managed within the integrated QM module, and billing is integrated with SAP.

A central responsibility of Stadtwerke Meerbusch-Willich is to guarantee residents a consistently high standard of drinking water. Its accredited in-house drinking water laboratory uses LDB to plan, test and evaluate drinking water samples.

Steinemann is located at the heart of Lower Saxony’s livestock farming and slaughtering cluster and works closely with partner laboratories, suppliers, customers and veterinary authorities. Numerous samples are created in LDB each day and analysed by partner laboratories, with a particular focus on monitoring. LDB has enabled an extensive digital subcontracting and monitoring system that makes results available for evaluation at the touch of a button, highlights trends and supports rapid responses through automatic alerts.

SunCoal develops and commercialises technical carbons, bio-based chemicals and bioenergy products.

LDB provides a single, central system for storing, retrieving and analysing data across the various process steps.

Sunday Natural, based in Berlin, is a manufacturer of high-quality dietary supplements and tests both raw materials and finished products for heavy metals, pesticide residues, and other ingredients. Using LDB, the quality team manages outsourcing to partner laboratories: samples are created from the Odoo ERP system via API, test orders—including test packages—are digitally transmitted to the laboratories, and the results are automatically imported and evaluated against product specifications. The company’s own laboratory in Poland also uses LDB; KPIs are reported via email and the dashboard, and trends are analyzed by supplier and batch.

THIMM Verpackung GmbH + Co. KG, a manufacturer of sustainable corrugated cardboard packaging and display solutions, uses LDB at six European sites to systematically capture, fully document and thoroughly evaluate measurements and test results for paper and corrugated cardboard.

TPW CTinspect GmbH is an accredited contract laboratory for non-destructive materials testing using industrial computed tomography (CT). LDB covers the processes from customer enquiries and order entry to reports and invoices. Interfaces to microscopy software import images and image data for use in test reports.

The environmental laboratory at the Institute of Hygiene and Environmental Medicine performs microbiological and physicochemical testing on a wide variety of matrices. It uses the LDB LIMS in water analysis and hospital hygiene to digitalise sample registration and laboratory processes.
