SaaS operating model | LDB LIMS

LDB is a web-based LIMS provided as Software as a Service (SaaS) in the AWS cloud in Frankfurt.

Users access LDB through a web browser (Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Safari or Firefox), making its full range of features available on any computer (Windows, macOS or Linux), tablet or smartphone.

Option 1: Standard Cloud Service
  • LDB is ISO 27001 certified and runs as an online service in the AWS Frankfurt data centre with cloud compliance (PCI DSS Level 1, ISO 27001, FISMA Moderate, FedRAMP, HIPAA, SOC 1 and SOC 2).
  • Users access LDB through an SSL-encrypted internet connection.
  • Sign in with a passkey or multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • The LDB cloud is optimised for running LDB and is maintained and supported by us.
  • A redundant server architecture, with multiple availability zones, a master/replica database and daily backups to Amazon S3, ensures high availability (see data security details).
  • 100 GB of storage for documents, images, files and more on redundant storage (Amazon S3).
Option 2: Enterprise Cloud Service
  • The Enterprise Cloud Service includes everything in Standard Cloud and more.
  • Unlimited storage for documents, images, raw data, files and more on redundant storage (Amazon S3).
  • Unlimited retention of all historical backups.
  • Service level agreement (SLA) with guaranteed response and recovery times.
  • Use of certificates for electronic signatures on reports, quotations and invoices in accordance with the European Union’s requirements for advanced electronic signatures.
  • Separate LDB test system
  • Single sign-on (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) or another identity provider
  • Automatic triggers for automated workflows
  • Transformation code for import and export interfaces
  • Custom data entry forms
  • Validation tool for automatic ongoing validation of LDB
