Labordatenbank data structure

The LDB is based on the following data structure:

  • A customer has n contacts and n orders (n = 0, 1 oder mehrere).
  • An order belongs to only one customer, contains n samples and n reports.
  • A sample belongs to only one order, has one specification / testing schedule and n parameters.
  • A report belongs to only one order and has n samples.
  • A specification / testing schedule has n nominal values, each of which is valid for only one parameter.
  • A parameter appears in n samples, has n nominal values, and belongs to only one parameter group.
  • A parameter group contains n parameters.

The diagram is a simplified visualization of main data structure of the LDB.
Elements like employees, access rights, offers, bills, receipts, notes, e-mails. etc. were not included for the sake of simplicity.
