The price list is the basis for charging for your services. You can find the price list in the Labordatenbank- navigation bar under Customers -> Pricelist.
The prices for your services are managed as price items in our <acronym title=“Laboratory Information Management System”>LIMS and linked to parameters, limit value tables, customers or discounts as required.
A price item can be the following:
Tip: Divide your price list into categories: e.g. microbiology, water and other.
Below we show you examples of how to manage your price items in the Labordatenbank:
Example 1: Price item for an analysis
Access the price list under Customers -> Prices and create a new price item. Give the price item the name pH value, enter your list price and link the price to the corresponding parameter using the selection box.
Example 2: Customer-specific price
If you have agreed a special price with a customer, e.g. the Water Supplier A, for the analysis of the pH value, you can also enter this as a price item. Copy the price item for pH value, enter your list price and assign the price to the Water Supplier A.
Tip: You do not need to enter individual prices for each customer in order to grant discounts. You can either enter a percentage discount directly for the customer or set your customer to be assigned to a discount group once a certain number of examinations have been ordered. See Discounts.
Example 3: Price items for several parameters in a package
For billing several parameters (e.g. as a package), you can create a price item for each of your parameters in the same way as in example 1. When billing the sample, each parameter is then listed and billed individually - for example, pH value, oxygen demand and lead in a water analysis.
In practice, however, the price for a package of several tests often differs from the sum of the individual price items. So instead of charging €21.72 (sum of 6 + 7.72 + 8 = 21.72) for the above example of a water analysis, these parameters are often offered as a package for €19.99.
You create such a package as follows:
Create a new price item as in example 1. Give the price item the name “Package Water Plus” and enter the package price € 19.99. Now add the parameters phosphate and lead.
When billing, Labordatenbank checks whether there is a registered package. In this case, the automatically calculated invoice amount is therefore not 21.72 euros, but 19.99 euros.
Example 4: Price item for services without parameters
You can also enter price items that are not part of an analysis, such as for consulting services or sample containers.
In contrast to the examples above, these price items are not linked to a parameter, so they are not calculated automatically. You can add these price items as required.
Tip: For billing of travel expenses, Labordatenbank offers the option of storing these directly with the customer. In this case, a travel allowance is automatically added when the invoice is created, so you do not have to add the travel costs manually.
