Add/edit/delete Test Equipment

This guide explains the management of test equipment in the Labordatenbank, including creating, editing, and deleting entries within the QM module.

The test equipment management is part of the QM module of the Labordatenbank, i.e. part of the QM database.

Creating and Editing Test Equipment

  • In your laboratory database, navigate to: Navigation barQM Equipment
  • In the test equipment view, you can add new equipment using the button Add Equipment
  • To edit existing test equipment, use the icon next to the respective entry to go directly to the edit view.

If your test equipment data is already available in an Excel table, the master data can be imported once directly into the Labordatenbank.

Alternatively, navigate to the detail view of the test equipment and click Edit Equipment

In the edit view, you can enter the data for the test equipment:

  • Name (required): Unique name of the test equipment.

  • Category: Freely selectable category for better structuring. Information on creating/editing categories can be found under Create/Edit/Delete Categories.

  • Tags: Optional tags for quick filtering or grouping.

  • Responsible (required): Select a responsible LDB account.

  • Substitute: Optional deputy responsible person.

  • Status: The current status of the test equipment. You can define your own statuses; more information at Status management.

  • Producer: Select from customers in the "Supplier/Manufacturer" category. See Create customer for adding customers.

  • Supplier: Also selected from customers in the "Supplier/Manufacturer" category.

  • Location: Default storage or usage location of the test equipment.

  • Documents: Linked documents. Access to documents is via the document management system. More info on adding documents: Create a New Document

  • Serialnumber: Optional field for unique identification.

  • Start of operation: Optional field to record the commissioning date.

  • Intended use: Optional field for describing the use of the test equipment.

  • Illustration of the Equipment: Optional image field. The image is shown in the test equipment overview.

  • Description: Optional free text field.

  • Additional Master Data Fields: Additional fields can be added on request. Please contact your Labordatenbank representative. An overview of configurable fields is available at configurable master data fields in the LABORDATENBANK.

On the right-hand side, you can upload documents or operating manuals related to the test equipment.

You can also define who is allowed to view the respective test equipment.


Deleting Test Equipment

Test equipment can be deleted at any time. To do this, go to the edit view of the equipment and click at the bottom of the page: delete.

The item can be restored from the recycle bin at any time.
