Book samples into a station

Sample tracking with QR codes: Book samples into and out of a station – for an always up-to-date storage location and complete traceability.

Navigation

Follow this path to open the station overview:
Navigation bar → Samples → Stations
Booking samples in and out is done in the detail view of a station.
Open it by clicking the blue-highlighted station name in the station overview. Depending on the station's configuration, different methods are available.

Booking samples in

Book samples in by scanning (list station)

By default, the samples booked into a station are kept as a chronological list.

  • Place the cursor in the Scan Sample field (barcode icon).
  • Scan the sample number with the barcode scanner or enter it manually.
  • The sample is booked in automatically. The input field then clears and is immediately ready for the next scan.

Book samples into a grid (box station)

In grid stations (rows × columns), samples are assigned to fixed positions. Samples already booked in are pre-filled in the position fields. You can overwrite a position to change the sample, or clear the field to remove the assignment to that position.

  • Click the desired position field (row/column) and scan or enter the sample number.
  • Click the Save button to confirm the bookings.

The Storage station and Grid features are configuration-dependent extensions. Contact your customer support if you would like to use these features.

Overview of Stationbookings

Below the scan field, all of the station's bookings are displayed with date, time, user and a link to the sample (including the associated order).

If the station is not a storage station, a sample is automatically removed from other (non-storage) stations when it is booked in, so that the current storage location is always reflected. With a storage station, the sample additionally remains stored in the previous stations. Storage stations can optionally be used for stations kept as a list.

Delete a booking

Delete a single booking

  • Open the station's detail view.
  • In the list of bookings, click the red trash icon to the right of the relevant sample.

Delete all bookings of a station

  • At the bottom of the booking list, click Delete all bookings.
  • Confirm the safety prompt to remove all of the station's bookings.
Note: When you delete a booking, only the sample's assignment to the station is removed. The sample itself is retained in the LDB.
