Sample Tracking with QR Code (Scanning at Stations)

In the Labordatenbank LIMS, you always know where your sample is currently located in the laboratory: By simply scanning the QR code (alternatively also barcode or RFID code), you automatically register the sample at the location where it is currently being processed (called a station). The same applies to disposal: When disposing of the sample, a simple scan is sufficient to mark the sample as disposed of in the LIMS.

Under Samples -> Stations, stations are managed. Here, a station can be created and samples can be stored.

To create a station, click on Create new station.

Here you can define the name of the station, assign a category to the station, if necessary, store a test equipment at the station, and enter a note. Then click Save.

Under Edit categories, you can define various categories for the stations and assign colors. If you click and hold the double arrows, you can change the order of the categories.

In the Manage Stations overview, click on the name of the respective station to check in a sample at a station.

Here you can manually enter the sample number or scan the sample. The sample is automatically saved after entry.
The station page can be accessed by scanning the right QR code.

In the Manage Stations overview, you can print the labels for the respective stations and place them at the station. By scanning the station and then the sample, a sample can now be quickly and easily checked in at a station.

To edit a station, click the orange button Edit station on the right or, in the Manage Stations overview, click the small pen icon to the right of the station name.

It would also be interesting to create an evaluation like Where is my sample? and store it in the sample detail view. This way, you can quickly check which station a sample is located at.

To be able to create stations in your Labordatenbank, please speak with your customer advisors; we will be happy to activate this function for you.
