Enter values

After a sample has been created in the LDB you can enter values for the parameters.

Navigation

You can find the value entry for a sample under:
Navigation bar → Samples → Sample list → click on the blue number of the relevant sample

Enter values in a sample

Depending on which parameters have been selected for this samples (see manual: Add samples), the relevant data entry fields will appear for the appropriate parameters.

As an example the parameter Turbidity contains two dropdown menus from which you can select the appropriate evaluation. For the fields Calcium and Magnesium you can enter measured concentrations. The value for the parameter Total hardness is calculated automatically via a predefined equiation derived from the inputs for Calcium and Magnesium (see manual: Deposit formulas with parameters). It is not possible to enter values into this field manually, so the field has been grayed out. Pink is used to designate fields in which data is to be entered manually.

Tip: Using the tab key you can move your cursor to the next data entry field.

Calculation of the Percentage Status of a Sample

The percentage status shows the processing progress of a sample and is based on the ratio of parameters with entered values to the total number of (considered) parameters assigned to the sample. The current status is displayed in the sample detail view on the right in the sample master data as well as in the sample list.
Note: If necessary, the percentage status can be hidden.

It is calculated using the following formula:

% Status = (Number of completed parameters / Number of relevant parameters) × 100

Which parameters are considered?

What is included?

  • All parameters with input fields (regardless of data type) are included in the calculation.
  • As soon as a value has been entered for a parameter, it is considered completed and increases the percentage status. This applies even if other input columns of the parameter are still empty.

What is NOT included?

  • Parameters with exclusively formula fields (without input option) are not considered.

Note:

  • The status updates automatically as soon as another parameter is filled in.
  • A status of 100% means that at least one input field has been filled in for all parameters with input fields.
  • Formula fields calculate automatically and do not affect the status.

Example for Status Calculation

The following figure shows a sample with a status of 33% and 4 parameters:

Overview of parameters and status calculation:

Parameter Type Counts for Status?
Input only Input field (1 input field filled: 12.00; 2 input fields empty) Yes
Formula and input Input + Formula (input field empty, formula field shows 12.00) Yes
Formula only Formula only (formula field shows 12.00) No
Upload only Upload (no upload - input field empty) Yes

Result:

  • Relevant parameters: 3 (Input only, Formula and input, Upload only)
  • Completed parameters: 1 (Input only)
  • % Status = (1 / 3) × 100 = 33.33% ≈ 33%
