For many areas of the LDB, categories can be assigned. Categories can be defined for tasks, customers, measuring instruments, materials, evaluations, and much more. While editing a specific data type, such as a material, you can edit the respective categories:

Alternatively, you can find the option in the overview table of the data type, for example, in the customer overview:

In the category editing view, new categories can be created using the button Create Category. Unused categories can be deleted by clicking the icon next to them. Under Name, you can provide labels in all languages enabled for your account. Under Color, you can choose from the following options: gray, green, purple, orange, red, blue and black.
