As a dedicated SaaS LIMS provider for ISO 17025-accredited and GxP-regulated laboratories, we know that LDB holds our customers’ most sensitive data and is continuously used on devices throughout the laboratory. We are therefore adding a third availability zone to the existing SaaS architecture that runs our laboratory information management system (LIMS). This improves resilience and provides additional performance benefits for all users.
Expanding from two to three availability zones gives LIMS users greater resilience and improved speed.
Our cloud LIMS runs in separate availability zones at AWS in Frankfurt. Each zone is built independently to ensure maximum resilience.
This SaaS architecture allows us to guarantee high availability and operational reliability for all Labordatenbank customers under their chosen operating model .
As the demands on modern cloud LIMS grow, expanding to three availability zones is a logical step towards greater reliability and resilience.
The expansion to three availability zones will take place in several phases, starting with the first services in December 2024. By the end of March 2025, the Labordatenbank infrastructure will be fully distributed across three availability zones.
All LDB SaaS users benefit directly from the expanded cloud architecture. The changes improve both operational reliability and the overall user experience.
