Filter and Sort Functions in Reports
Your LDB reports now include filter and sort functions integrated into the column headers.

Search Function in the Report Overview
To make it easier to work with multiple reports, we’ve added a search function to the report overview that allows you to search through and filter your reports.

Enhanced Interface for Editing Multiple Samples
When editing the master data for multiple samples, the stored selection fields are now provided as selection options.

New Import Interfaces for Invoices and Assets
With the new import interfaces, you can importassets(including asset components/sampling points) and invoices (including billing items) into LDB.

Advanced Settings for LDB Login
In the Enterprise Cloud, you now have additional options for protecting your LDB accounts with two-factor authentication (2FA) and single sign-on (SSO).

By selecting the restriction "Users can only log in with 2FA or SSO," you achieve the highest level of protection for your LDB accounts, since logging in is then only possible with 2FA or SSO.
Alternatively, you can select the option “Users with admin rights can only log in with 2FA or SSO, ” which ensures that users with sensitive access rights can only log in using 2FA or SSO. The sensitive access rights are: Edit access rights, Password settings, System settings, Edit employee groups, Create/edit reports, Download data backups

Single Sign-On (SSO)
LDB now supports integration with your company’s existing identity management system (Microsoft Azure AD, Okta, Google, Jira, LinkedIn, etc.) via Single Sign-On (SSO) using OAuth 2.0, allowing users to log in directly to LDB from their company computers without an additional login step.
This not only simplifies users’ daily work but also enhances the security of LDB accounts.

The features listed are part of the LDB Enterprise Cloud and can be enabled via the system settings.

Information for Your Risk Assessment
Due to login restrictions or an IP block, you may accidentally lock yourself out of LDB. We recommend that you do not log out of LDB after changing these settings and test the login process using a different device.

Once Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled, only users with an active SSO account in your identity management system can log in to LDB. If you have access rights to the LDB password settings, you can enable login without SSO for individual users. We recommend that you then enable 2FA for these users so that only users with SSO or 2FA can log in.

LDB Validation
With LDB Validation, your specific parameter formulas, reports, specifications, evaluations, and more are continuously and automatically validated. Each validation is documented, and any non-conformities are highlighted.

Ideally, a separate validation job is created for this purpose, containing samples along with parameter formulas, limit value tables/specifications, and reports. The validations are then generated with just a few clicks, and your validation system runs automatically in the background on a regular basis from that point on.

During each validation, the parameter formulas are recalculated for the selected samples, the limit value tables/specifications are re-calibrated, and the reports are regenerated; every detail is also compared with the stored reference data. Any discrepancies are highlighted. In addition, by validating analyses, you can also validate other data types, such as sample templates, access rights, and more.

Validation is performed automatically every week and after every software update, but it can also be run at any time with the click of a button.

Validation can be activated at any time as part of the Enterprise Cloud. We recommend that you create a validation job with a few samples that contain the relevant parameter formulas, limit value tables/specifications, and reports.

Document Control
We have expanded document control so that the creation, review, and approval of each document can be confirmed by the relevant individuals with a digital signature. The digital signatures are added to the document and displayed on the cover page.

Order Planning
With order planning, recurring samples and orders can be scheduled in advance and then activated with the click of a button.

New Import Interfaces for Materials, Batches, andSpecifications
With thenewimport interfaces, materials, batches, andspecifications(including target values) can be imported into LDB, and existing entries can be updated.

New Integration for Import Interfaces: Importing Stored Files
Files that are already stored in LDB can be imported directly using this integration with an import interface.
This is helpful, for example, when import files are sent to LDB by your customers via an online analysis request.

Files for Employee Qualifications
To document employee qualifications more precisely, files can now also be stored for employee qualifications. Additional details can be entered in configured master data fields for employee qualifications.

Custom Dashboard Pages Can Be Selected as the Home Page
If you have created multiple dashboard pages, you can specify in your account settings which dashboard page you want to use as your home page.

2022.36

09/05/22
Layout Update for LDB
With this update, we have updated the LDB layout to improve how content is displayed on very narrow and very wide screens.

New Quick Search
The Quick Search (in the navigation bar at the top left) searches all data types. In addition, search results are suggested as you type, allowing you to find the entry you’re looking for even faster.

Display Tasks on Every Page
In the navigation bar at the top right, you can see the number of your open tasks at a glance. You can also view open tasks and create new tasks on any page.

Connect a Label Printer to LDB via USB
Label printers can now be controlled by LDB via USB, allowing LDB to send labels in ZPL format to a USB label printer (see: User Call on September 16, 2022).

2FA Login with Security Key or Authenticator App (TOTP)
Two-factor authentication now allows you to set up both a security key and an authenticator app (TOTP)for your account, so you can use whichever tool is available to log in.
For example, if you don’t have your security key with you while on the go, you can look up the TOTP code in the authenticator app on your mobile device and use it to log in securely.

Information for Your Risk Assessment
With the update to the layout engine, user interface elements now dynamically adapt to the screen width. This may result in shifts in the page layout.
Additionally, the appearance of input fields and buttons has changed.
If you have incorporated design elements such as labels or buttons into your reports, the appearance of these elements will change. Documentation for the new layout engine can be found at: Bootstrap 5.2

2022.23

06/06/22
New Account Page
There is now an Account page in the System Settings that contains information about your LDB instance (see System Settings -> Account).

Audit Trail
The display of line breaks in the audit trail has been improved, making it easier to track changes in longer entries.

Deleted Files
When you delete stored files, an entry now appears in the Recycle Bin, and you have the option to restore deleted files.

Font Size in Report Tables
In report tables, you can now set different font sizes for the header and body of the tables.

Import Interfaces for Tasks and Specifications/Test Plans/Limit Tables
With the new import interface types, tasks and specifications/test plans/limit value tables can now be imported into LDB. This allows you to set up automations so that, for example, when new orders are created, associated tasks with corresponding activities are automatically created.

LDB Cloud: Rate Limit
To enhance the security and availability of LDB, the LDB Cloud firewall now enforces a rate limit of 5,000 requests per 5 minutes per IP address. This limits the number of requests from a specific IP address to 5,000 requests every 5 minutes. Additional requests from the same IP address that exceed this limit will return a 429 - Too Many Requests response.

Information for Your Risk Assessment
This update includes changes in the following areas of LDB:
  • If you operate an external system that makes very frequent calls to import interfaces or reports (more than 5,000 times per 5 minutes), you should implement handling for response code 429 so that calls are paused for 5 minutes.
  • When deleting saved files, an entry now appears in the Recycle Bin, and you have the option to restore deleted files. If necessary, adjust the access permissions for the Recycle Bin and data restoration accordingly.

2022.20

05/16/22
Certificate for Electronic Signatures
You now have the option to store signatures in LDB using certificates for electronically signing reports (see Settings -> Manage Signatures).

LDB uses the extended PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures) method. As a result, electronic signatures created with LDB meet the advanced requirements of the European Union as specified in ETSI EN 319 142 by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute.

PDF documents signed in this way can be validated online, among other places, by the EU’s Digital Signature Service: https://ec.europa.eu/digital-building-blocks/DSS/webapp-demo/validation

The electronic signature with a certificate can be enabled as part of the LDB Enterprise Cloud and requires a corresponding certificate for your company. If you do not yet have a certificate, you can order one from a provider on the European Union Trust List (EUTL) or the Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) for your country. For example, for Germany: D-Trust - Advanced Enterprise ID, or for Austria: Globaltrust - ADVANCED SEAL: Corporate Signature

We’d be happy to assist you in applying for a suitable certificate for your company.

Note: In the June 2022 User Call, we’ll show you how to electronically sign your reports, quotes, and invoices in LDB in accordance with the European Union’s advanced requirements and how to order a corresponding certificate for your company.

Signing Quotes and Invoices with a Certificate
With the electronic signature certificate, you can now also sign and send quotes and invoices created with LDB.

Plate Management with Different Plate Sizes
In Plate Management, you can choose from additional plate formats in addition to the standard format (96-plate).

Reports: Fixed Header
When scrolling down in larger report tables, the header now remains fixed at the top of the screen, so you can always see the column headers even in longer tables.

Test Equipment Entries
When editing test equipment entries, you now have the option to retroactively assign the entry to a different piece of test equipment.

Import Interfaces for Formulas
There is a new import interface type for importing formulas, including formula ingredients.

Information for Your Risk Assessment
This update includes changes in the following areas of LDB:
  • Signing reports, quotes, and invoices with a digital signature certificate.
  • Minor improvements to the chart editor in the reports.
  • Bug fix: When importing measurement data using the “ignore_with_warning” import mode, values might have been imported twice (this has been corrected).
  • Bug fix: There was an error in the training search function (QM module) that prevented any training courses from being found (this has been corrected).
Note: If you’ll be attending analytica 2022 in Munich at the end of June, we look forward to seeing you at our booth in Hall B2, Booth No. 430

Import Interfaces
Several improvements have been made to the creation of import interfaces, allowing transformation codes to be generated and validated more quickly.
In addition, there is now a comment feature that allows you to add notes to individual imports.

Export Interfaces
We have improved the built-in SQL editor for creating export interfaces and reports, so that it now includes a direct preview and autocomplete functionality that automatically recognizes and completes tables and master data fields.

Dashboard Editor
With the Dashboard Editor, you can now create multiple dashboards, and elements can be freely moved using drag-and-drop.

Parameter Data Type: Checkbox
The parameter data type: Checkbox has been updated so that a deselected entry (checkbox unchecked) is saved as empty (not 0). Previously, if the checkbox was checked and then deselected, a 0 was saved internally.
